1. Southglenn

Southglenn is located on Centennial’s western edge. It is bordered on the north by E Arapahoe Rd, the east by the Streets at Southglenn, the south by E Dry Creek Rd, and the west by S Penrose Ct. Surrounding streets are also considered “unincorporated” parts of the Southglenn neighborhood. Before being merged into Centennial in 2001, Southglenn was a master-planned neighborhood with its own governance. It is one of the largest neighborhoods in south Denver, with a population of over 50,000 people and close to 20,000 homes. The streets at Southglenn are a shopping center in Southglenn.

On February 7, 2001, the city of Centennial was founded in unincorporated Arapahoe County, comprising the former census-designated places of Castlewood and Southglenn. On September 12, 2000, the inhabitants of the area voted to incorporate, and Centennial was chosen as the official name during the voting
