A lot of Greenwood Village neighborhoods border Cherry Creek State Park on the west, which is one of Colorado’s most popular state parks. This park’s 800-acre Cherry Creek Reservoir is surrounded by a natural grassland environment. The gentle, rolling hills are popular for hiking and bicycling, and the lake is perfect for water activities. Boating, jet-skiing, paddle boarding, and fishing are permitted in Cherry Creek Reservoir. The park offers a stunning perspective and the Front Range mountains, as well as several routes through the marshes. There’s a 100-acre off-leash dog area, one of the nicest in the state, for visitors bringing their pets.
Cherry Creek School District is commonly known as the best school district to send kids to in the Denver Metro area and is arguably one of the best school districts in the state. Greenwood Village has 10,612 students, 42% of whom are enrolled in elementary school and 32%. Greenwood Village’s public schools include five elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. Greenwood Village also has two private schools with programs for kids ranging from preschool to eighth grade.
The Denver Tech Center (DTC) employs 113,270 people in the metro area and is located primarily in south-central Arapahoe County, Greenwood Village, Colorado. The Denver Tech Center is represented by the DTC Identity Monument, which is located in Greenwood Village between I-25 and DTC Parkway.
The DTC is ranked as the 12th largest tech-talent labor pool in the nation and amounts to 6.7% of the overall Denver workforce.
As the name suggests, the Denver Tech Center is home to a plethora of high-tech businesses and industries. It also has a lot of clubs and other places to go for entertainment, including a “Comedy Club” in the Landmark shopping mall just north of Orchard Rd.
Colorado is commonly ranked in the top 10 states for its healthy lifestyle and Greenwood Village is an accurate representation of that.
People in this city place high importance on health and wellbeing as a way of life. According to Livability.com, 84% of Greenwood Village inhabitants lead an active lifestyle and 74% maintain a healthy weight.
From outdoor parks and trails to fitness centers and personal training facilities, the city is brimming with venues where individuals may exercise and focus on their wellness objectives. Greenwood Village residents are typically highly active, healthy, and involved in their neighborhood. They adore the outdoors, and “parks and recreation” are consistently mentioned as one of their favorite aspects of living here. Citizens not only have easy access to parks and trails but the city is surrounded by hundreds of acres of open space and is close to many large state parks.

Greenwood Village is placed 50th across the country. As seen above, Greenwood Village has an overall cost of living that is DOUBLE that of the US average. It is also significantly more expensive overall than Colorado as a whole. Grocery, Housing, Median Home Price, and Transportation are a few of the factors that are more expensive in Greenwood Village than in other areas.

The average rent for a 2-bedroom property in the Greenwood Village (Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metro) metro region is $1,657, which is 41% more than the national average. As a result, depending on whatever neighborhood you choose to reside in, expenses may rise or fall. Greenwood Village’s median house price is around $1,100,202, with a $456 median price per square foot. This is due to the high amount of luxurious neighborhoods and communities in the city.
Greenwood Village’s housing costs are estimated to be 140% of the national average, according to the cost-of-living index. As a result, it is one of the most expensive cities in the United States.
We’ve talked about how Greenwood Village housing is incredibly expensive. This next con is that there aren’t very many options when it comes to housing choices in Greenwood Village.
As mentioned before, you’ll find lots of luxury communities and high-end single-family residences in Greenwood Village. You really won’t find much housing diversity outside of that, though. There aren’t a lot of options, if any when it comes to townhomes, condos, or lower-end single-family residences.
This makes it difficult to move to the city if you don’t have a substantially high household income.
The city of Greenwood Village is well known for being a business hub but is not as recognized as a shopping destination. There are some shopping centers, though, from fashion boutiques to antique stores scattered across its districts. There is just 1 mall inside the city, The Belleview Promenade, near the DTC, is an outdoor retail mall with various luxury restaurants, salons and day spas, coffee shops, and women’s apparel boutiques and jewelry stores. When it comes down to it, there isn’t a whole lot of diversity in this city when it comes to shopping for fun or for daily necessities.
Most people go a few minutes southwest to Lone Tree when they want to get their shopping in.
If you’re used to living in a popular city, you’re probably familiar with dealing with rush-hour traffic on some level. You already know that if you go during off-peak hours, you can bet that you’ll have a longer commute time. In Greenwood Village, in practically every part of the city, rush hour occurs all day, every day.
The traffic is particularly bad here because geographically, the city is quite small, yet the DTC area in Greenwood Village alone employs 100,000+ people. This is just a recipe for disaster when it comes to road congestion.
So far the traffic in this city is pretty bad and is likely going to get worse before it gets better.
