One of the primary reasons why so many people like to live in Fountain is that real estate is generally less expensive than in other parts of the state. Many people who work or go into Colorado Springs on a regular basis opt to live in Fountain because The Springs is just about 20 mins drive from the town.

Many residents adore the town since it allows them to live in a more suburban environment while close to Springs. Fountain’s affordable housing market is one of its most attractive aspects.

3. Small-Town Feel

Pros and Cons of Living in Fountain, Colorado

Fountain offers the feel of a small town while still being accessible to everything you would need. The town itself has all sorts of options when it comes to dining, shopping, etc, plus it’s only a few miles from south of Colorado Springs, a short drive from the Colorado Springs airport, and from Fort Carson’s Gate 20.

Large cities are frequently associated with culture and beauty, but this is not always the case. Several communities with populations of less than 40,000 people demonstrate that Colorado is home to a diverse range of microcultures from coast to coast. Lakes, ancient main streets, woodlands, architectural brilliance, and beaches provide beauty. One of these towns is Fountain Co.

Fountain is a little town with many things to do. This town has a small-town feel to it which many Colorado cities just don’t have anymore. The people here are helpful and polite. The evenings are vibrant and fun. This small town will always provide you with the ideal atmosphere to live your life.

Cons of Living in Fountain

1. Bad Location

Fountain has a pretty bad and isolated location compared to many other Colorado cities. Sure, if all you need to be is close to Colorado Springs then living in Fountain is great, but if you are going to be needing or wanting to spend time in other Colorado cities, this likely won’t be a good fit.

Monument and Pueblo are the next two cities close to Fountain, but even then they are both 30 minutes away. Other than that, the town of Fountain is pretty isolated. Getting to Denver and its surrounding cities takes over 90 minutes.

So, if you are expecting to commute around Colorado, this city is probably not the best fit due to its isolated location.

2. Few Job Opportunities

While small towns like Fountain offer lower living costs, they also have fewer well-paying work possibilities. Healthcare and professional services businesses, for example, are rapidly expanding, yet they are concentrated in metropolitan regions like Colorado Springs. The commute will be extended even if you locate an excellent job in a small town. You may be able to get outstanding work depending on your specialty, but you may have to go to the next big city, such as Colorado Springs, to land well-paying employment.

As mentioned earlier in the article, most people that live in Fountain tend to live there to be close to Colorado Springs. So, unless you already have a job lined up in Fountain, you’ll likely have to be looking elsewhere for employment.

3. Traffic Problems

If you’ve lived in a city for a long time, you’ve undoubtedly been used to dealing with rush-hour traffic. You’re probably aware that going during off-peak hours can reduce your driving time. This is not the case, however, if you live in Fountain which is due to its close proximity to Colorado Springs. Weekends are particularly inconvenient since everyone is either going to the mountains or going shopping. Many individuals have work in Colorado Springs, which is why they must commute from town to the Springs regularly. As a result, there is traffic congestion. Luckily, Fountain is on the outskirts of the major traffic areas, but it is still experienced in the city frequently and will get worse.
